ATC & Scrap Swap

Here are some ATCs I made for the recent Patriotic Swap over on the SVG Cuts Forum. They are so funny & easy to make. I did a red white & blue layout recently and cut some extra stuff for these ATCs. A Summer ATC Swap is slated for the next go around - join in the fun over on the forum!

I hosted a Scrap Swap over on the SVG Cuts Forum. We swapped a 3D Paper Piecing, Journal Paper Piecing, 24" - 36" piece of coordinating Ribbon. I got a bit carried away and did several 3D Paper Piecings :) These are for Celeste - she requested red & purple for her 11 year old daughter. I am friends with Celeste and even incorporated her daughter's name. Hope she likes them.


Hoping everyone enjoys the scrap swap this go around and hoping to do another one soon!

JUGS Challenge

Hey all - did this quick card for my niece. Got some color inspiration for the JUGS Challenge this week.

I used the Lever card from SVG Cuts - it is from the Peony Cottage SVG Kit. If you haven't picked this one up you should! SVG Cuts is having a sale now-ends today! Finished it off with some twine from The Twinery (check out there Summer Fun Giveaway before Friday) & Gradient Gems from Creative Charms. Patterned paper is from DCWV - Green stack. Matched my color sheme perfectly.

Tip of the Week - Shadows In SCAL

Kim sent me an email and asked me how I created the shadow for my Dad's Day Candy Bar Wrapper. It is the shadow I cut in cream card stock. So here's a tutorial on how to do it!

Step 1 - Import both SVG Cuts files. You can get them free from here.

Step 2 - Click on each image and hit break apart. Delete the "a" from the top one and the "R" from the bottom image.

Step 3 - Select the bottom image and move it up on top of the upper image. Select both images by drawing a box around both. Then select WELD.

Step 4 - Select Shadow - Pointy - 2.0. It will look strange but...


Step 5 - ...Hit Preview and you will see the final cut.

Break out the Red White & Blue

This month I had so much fun playing with Creative Charms June Kit of the Month - $14.99 (73+ Pieces).


I made a Scrapbook page to capture our trip to the Memorial Day Parade. We love going to the parade every year and enjoy spending time with friends of our family.

I used a sketch from Practical Scrappers - Lots of inspiration on their blog - check them out!

Here are a few closeups:

Along with the Creative Charms also used elements I cut on the Cricut using SCAL and SVG Cuts files. I used elements from Uncle Sams Extravaganza Part I & Part II. Papers are from DCWV The Green Stack and solids are AC Cardstock.

I also made this Uncle Sam Hat. The top pulls off and works perfect for goodies inside. It is from the Made In The USA SVG Kit.

Father's Day

With Father's Day approaching I whipped up a Father's Day card for my son's godfather. I used the Candy Bar Wrapper that was offered on the SVG Cuts Blog. You can grab it here if you don't already have it.

I also used the title from SVG Cuts - another freebie from 6/16/10. Finished it off with some twine from The Twinery.

I inserted a large candy bar and a gift card.

Stop back on Thursday for a few red white & blue projects for Creative Charms.

Caitlin Baby Name Collage

I have not done a baby name collage in quite some time. This one was really fun. Baby to be's room has gingam, butterflies in greens, yellows, reds and white.

Here are a few closeups - first one features the SVG Cuts freebie pinwheel from 5/3/10. It was really fun to make.


And love how these scallop strips turned out at the bottom. They are from SVG Cuts Rosies Ribbons.



Finished off with some Creative Charms ribbon, gradient gems and brads.

Squirt Gun Party

Here are some quick bday invites I made for my son's 8th birthday. He is having a pool squirt gun party this Sunday. Wish me luck - hope I survive!

Dad's Day Card
