Cute As A Button!

I had the honor to create with the My Little Shoebox Cute As A Button line & Creative Charms. The papers were all girl which took me a bit out of my element but I was up for the challenge. With two boys I don’t scrap pinks, girls & flowers.

I created this layout featuring my great niece Jacalynn. She is cute as a button and was experiencing her first dinner of sweet potatoes in this layout. I added Gradient Gems, Vintage Jewels, Pure Blossoms & Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon.

A few close ups:

I also created a frame for friends of our family. They have four girls that resemble the girls in the Cute As A Button line. Frame is from the dollar bin at Target. The papers and Creative Charms really dressed it up!

Abigail Collage

Well this is my third Jungle Theme in a row - a very popular baby’s room theme. This time I used the Cuddly Animals from SVG Cuts. I took out the eyes on the SVGs and replaced them with Black Gradient Gems from Creative Charms. Gave it a different, more whimsical look.

The frog is a freebie from SVG Cuts - 1/16/10.

The font is Tekton Pro which is fun and great for welding. The collage also feature ribbon and other embellishments from Creative Charms. Buttons are from my stash. If you are new to my collages I use shadowbox frames from Joanns - they are approx 20" wide x 9" high. I use Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL) and my Cricut.

Dad’s Birthday Layout

I just finished this layout using Little Yellow Bicycle papers. This was an assignment from my local scrapbook Store - The Crop Shop. (sorry - photos are not the greatest!)

We had a wonderful visit from our nieces & great niece (my sons’ godmoms and cousin) during our summer vacation. They came down to the beach for the day on my husband’s birthday. I did this page to capture the memory.

I’m off to a Friday/Saturday Crop this weekend - can’t wait!

Maxton - Another Jungle Theme

It seems the Jungle Theme is the “In” Theme for Nurseries. Here is one I did for a baby boy named Maxton. (Click on it for a closer look)

Here is a closeup of the monkey - I got him awhile back from Dustin Pike. He has done a few SVGs and creates the most awesome digital & regular stamps. I have quite a collection of his digital stamps - someday when I get the hang of making cards I might dive into those.

I created the little oval shapes in Illustrator using a paint brush tool and it worked perfect for these. Check out the bedding below.

The jungle leaves & frame at the right for Maxton’s photo are from SVG Cuts & the embellishments are from Creative Charms. Font is Bernhard Bold Condensed.

Have a great Weekend and a Happy Halloween!

It's a Jungle Charlotte Collage

Here is a baby name collage I created for my coworker. Her first grand daughter made her debut in September. I knew the room had a jungle theme but did not know the name or if I should work in blue or pink. Here is where I start -by getting a photo of the bedding.

I do a rough layout in Adobe Illustrator. I like being able to move things around on the computer. Plus I can see how big to make my elements & type. I then save out the elements as SVGs and import into Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL) & cut on my Cricut.

From there I build the collage. Here are few closeups of the SVG Cuts elements - these are from the Cuddly Animals Collections - absolutely perfect for this jungle theme.

I then add in the Creative Charms. I used the new Vintage Jewels. The tear drop shapes were perfect for the elephant and the flowers are a nice to touch to make the collage more appropriate for a girl.

Here is the final collage...
