Easter Layout LSS Week 1

How about those cuties? I recently signed up for a little Challenge called "Last Scrapper Standing". Sounds fun right? Each week a challenge will be posted on Crafty Swaps and Challenges on FB and you have to create a layout to match the challenge. If you do it you move on, if not you are eliminated.

Week one uses the sketch below. Plus you had to use elements listed on the challenge.

1) I used a ribbon on my tag. Isn't that bunny cute? It is a print and cut from SVG Cuts ~ Cotton Tail Village SVG Kit.
He cut perfect on my Cameo.

2) I used more than one Patterned Paper.
The little chick is from Fleurette’s recent kit called ~ Little Chicks Element Collection

3) I used a brad on my title. It is a recent freebie from SVG Cuts. Go grab it! Once again I did a print and cut.

and last but not least...
4) I used a button on camera. The papers are from Dear Lizzy.

So I've survived one week - we shall see if I am the Last Scrapper Standing! Maybe I'll get discovered for a reality scrapping show.

One last thing before I leave - stop on over to the SVG Cuts store - they are having a sale which ends Wednesday!

Punkin Patch + A Sketch

Phew! I have been sick and haven't blogged in quite some time. I had the darn flu but feeling better now!

Here is a layout I recently created (I'm scrappin’ fall of 2011). I used the Basic Grey - Shine On 12x12 Pad for this one. I picked it up at Joanns. I was so excited to see Joanns carrying Basic Grey!

The diecuts for the pumpkin & leaves are from SVG Cuts ~ Thankful Cuties SVG Collection.
I just left off the little eyes. (Poor things!)

I embossed the elements and added flair from Paper Play Studios. Here is an up close look.

Here is a sketch for this layout. If you are scrapper go ahead and download it for future use!

Have a great day & weekend!

Howdy Partner!

Have you seen the latest Kit from SVG Cuts? ~
it’s AMAZING! It’s the Happy Trails SVG Kit and here is a look at all the elements:

I just love the 3D boot - so darn cute. I was in the mood to do some scrapping today so I decided to take all the elements and create a layout.

This page documents our Cub Scout banquet from last year. We had a western theme and each year the buys bake & decorate a cake to follow the theme. They really had fun making and eating the cakes.

Here are a few close ups: I used the print and cut of the little cowboy on my Cameo. After that was done I switched to my Eclips and cut the rest of the elements.

I used the freebie from yesterday on the little tag. You can grab the freebie here.

So if you are not into the 3D elements just goes to show they have plenty of elements for scrapbooking included in the kit! I just started doing scrapbook sketches. Here is one for today's layout. Go ahead and download for future use.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm Sketching!

This past weekend I attended a scrap weekend away. If you haven't experienced a weekend I would highly recommend one. It is a great way to connect with other crafters plus you do get alot of scrapping done. I have been wanting to try to create my own sketches for quite some time and decided to give it a try.

A scrapbook sketch is a guide to help you build your layout.
If you like it - go ahead and download it and create a page!

Here is my finished layout. Papers are from Best Creation - Back2School.
The scallop square is from SVG Cuts ~ Simon’s Simple Square Cuts.

The First Day of School title is from SVG Cuts ~ Miss Baker’s Classroom SVG Kit.

Love the flair from Paper Play Studios.

Hope you like my sketch - I have a bunch more to share with you. Please spread the word to your scrappin’ friends!

Have you seen the latest SVG Cuts Kit ~ SVG Cuts Sweets For My Sweet Kit? I'm looking forward to making some Valentine treats.

Weekend Crop Tips & Checklist

As I am getting ready for my weekend crop next week thought I would share how I go about my planning process. With some careful pre-planning you can have a very fun & productive crop!

Send photos for printing. I try to narrow them down. I do one scrapbook per year so figure for most events you will only have room for 2-4 photos. In some cases you may do a 2 page layout so you’ll need a 4-8 for that. I use Snapfish for my photos. Don’t forget to order some 5x7’s for your pages or even 8x10’s!

After you get the photos back start to narrow those down even further - you can pass along extras to Grandmas or friends.

I like to plan things out so if you are doing a 2 page layout it falls on a left and right page. Not only are my scrap books in order but I must scrap them in order (just a little one of my super organized traits). Also gather up any other mementos for your layout - for example an invite, ticket stub, etc.

I use sketches alot - they are an easy blueprint to reference. They are usually pretty basic and a great starting point. Here is an example of sketch:

Here are a few of my favorite sketch sites:

See the sidebar for Debbie’s Sketches. Here is Debbie’s blog - worth a visit!

Get out your paper and pen and sketch out your page and write down some notes for journaling. It will help to think of things before the day of the crop. Also pick a title. If you are stumped on a title check out scrapbook.com for lots of great ideas.

Pull your papers for the page and put them into the folder. Don’t forget to include patterned papers along with some solids. If you stick to one line then you’ll be sure to match but does not hurt to mix and match too.

You could also cut any titles if you have time but if you take your cutter to the crop this isn't really necessary.

Check out magazines, blogs - you can always follow me if you like :) I also have a collection of scrapbook layouts on Pinterest. Even though you already have a good plan you can get ideas for techniques.

Check out this layout from my Pinterest Page ~ Scrapbook Layouts Board:

I am loving how the twine is strung thru the hearts
and may string it thru my banners that way.

This should be all the prework you will need to do!

Here is a checklist for what I bring to a crop.
Your list may be different but this is a good starting point if you don't have a list!

Have fun cropping! I'll share my finished Graduation Layout here and on my FB Page after my crop. Stop back by to check it out!

It’s All About the Family

We recently got together for our Family Reunion. I created this layout to capture the fun of the day. Also featured the oldest and youngest members of the family on my layout.

I went Cricut-less for this project (I know not like me!) I used lots of stitching and the Creative Charms Deal of Month from May (Sparkling Garden of Delight) for this layout. All the Kits & Deals of the Month are 10% Off.

I used papers from DCWV Green Stack for this layout. I cut the flower from patterned paper to add as an accent. Here are a few closeups:

Isn't the little owl cute? And love how the Creative Charms are the perfect accent.

DCWV is having a sketch challenge over on their blog and I'm going to play along. Sketch is from Susan at Sketch Savvy.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to enter my contest before the end of today. Winner will be announced Thursday. See my prior post for the details.
