Lucky Journal

Happy St Patrick’s Weekend to you! I have a fun Lucky Journal to share with you today. I made this for my friend who signed up for my Craft It Forward post on Facebook way back in January. 

I covered a hardback notebook with paper and cuts are from SVG Cuts ~ Charm and Chance SVG Kit.

I used some wonderful Trendy Twine for this project and I'm going to enter their challenge for the month. 

Here’s the challenge:

Going Green

Recipe: St. Patrick's Day with a clover, leprechaun, or both 

Monochromatic green (shades of green; no other colors) Trendy Twine

I attached a cute little bookmark with the Trendy Twine.

Lucky Layout

I recently did a St. Pat’s Layout at my local scrapbook store - the Crop Shop. They hosted a {Chocolate Crop} YUM! Everyone brought chocolate and we all scrapped all day!

St. Patty's Day Layout - Day 5

Thanks for everyone for your comments - so cool to see so many of you playing along and enjoying this format. I will plan on doing an Easter Layout.

Here is the final Day for the St. Patty's Day Layout. If you are just joining in check out the previous 4 posts for Days 1 - 4.

This is my favorite part of the layout - the title. I love playing with type and I think it is so cool that I can cut ANY font or dingbat from my computer on the Cricut using SCAL.

Step 1 - Cut the file named "Day5Title.svg". Ink the edges if you like. Layer all the elements to the title. I added some dimensional pop up tape on the "2" to pop it up.


Step 2 - Adhere title to layout and you are done! I added a few shamrock buttons that I picked up at Michael's.

St. Patty's Day Layout - Day 4

Here are the Day 4 Elements for the St. Patty's Day Layout. See previous 3 posts if you are just joining in.

Step 1 - Cut the file named "Day4Shamrocks.svg". Ink the edges if you like. You can use the oval for your journaling. Add some dimensional tape to pop up the shamrocks.


Step 2 - Adhere the elements to the layout.

St. Patty's Day Layout - Day 3

Glad to see some of you are playing along. We are now onto Day 3. (Sorry about the bad photos) If you are just stopping by check out Day 1 and Day 2 steps and files.

Step 1 - Cut the files named "Day3Frames.svg". Ink the edges if you like. Add some dimensional tape to pop up the shamrocks.



Step 2 - Adhere the frames to the layout.

St. Patty's Day Layout - Day 2

Here are the Day 2 steps for the St. Patrick's Day Layout. If you are just joining in, click here for Day 1.

Step 1 - Cut the file called "Day2SmallerBackground.svg" and ink the edges. I used an embossed paper for this. If you have the Create you'll cut a top and bottom and piece together. Adhere to layout.



Step 2 - Print out the Bingo Card - "LuckyBingoCard.jpg" that is in the ZIP file. I did a SVG of this for Valentine's Day and to be honest with you it's a pain to cut so I decided to do a digital version for this layout. I played around with some cool filters in Illustrator and Photoshop.



Step 3 - Adhere the Bingo Card to the Layout.

St Patty's Day Layout - Day 1

Here is the first day of the St. Patrick’s Layout.

Step 1 - Cut the "Day1Background.svg" and ink the edges. If you have a Create cut both background files and tape in the middle. We will be layering lots of items on this layout so the cut will not be noticed in the end.



Step 2 - Cut the file named "Day1PiecesBehindShamrocks.svg" and tape to the back of the background.



Step 3 - Adhere background to a 12 x 12 paper.

St. Patty's Day Layout - Want to play along?

Instead of creating a bunch of St. Patty's Day SVGs thought I would focus on one nice layout. Over the course of 5 days I will build the layout and give you step by step directions along with the SVGs that you can cut in SCAL or MTC.

Shamrock with Swirls

The Valentines are addressed and the treat bags are done. So we're on to St. Patrick's Day. I'm surrounded by Irish in my family (everyone but me).

I did a heart with swirls (on the right panel) and it was downloaded 579 times as of today. Guess you all liked it!?! So I did a Shamrock with Swirls.

Here are the elements on the SVG:


Here is the final product. Would make a cute addition to a card or scrapbook page.

FYI ~ the swirly shamrock piece is a bit tricky to glue - I would recommend a Zig Pen or a shot of Spray Mount for adhesive.
