Shadow Box

Hope your fall is going great! It's challenge time on the Miss Kate Cuttables Galleria Facebook Page. The theme for this month is any combo of fall colors including
orange, brown, yellow, gold, red and green.

For my project I'm sharing a shadow box I made for my great nephew Bryce.

I used the Baby Racoon SVG.

and last but not least the Baby Bear SVG.

Here's an angled look so you can see all the layering. I use foam core and foam tape to bump up portions of the shadow box.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you find some time to do some fall crafting!

Apple Challenge

It's Challenge time again for Miss Kate Cuttables. This month's theme is Apples. I created a fall layout perfect for scrapping a trip to the farm or a hay ride.

I used the Fall Banners File for my title. I added some twine accent.

The yellow dot pattern is paper from Miss Kate Cuttables - Back to School Basics Yellow Dot.

Fall Challenge at Miss Kates

Hello Everyone! Fall is such a nice time of the year especially in Western PA where the leaves are in full color. Miss Kate's is having another challenge for November and the theme is "FALL".

Here is my layout I created. It was was from back in 2005 and a part of my 2nd son's baby book.

I just love these cute crows on the pumpkins. It was a lot of paper piecing but I had a blast putting them together.

The crow standing on the pumpkins is from the file Autumn Crow.
The title and falling leaves are from Autumn Word Art.

This cute little crow is from Crow Behind Pumpkin.

I used the pen tool to create by journaling on the tag.

Stop by the Miss Kate Facebook Galleria Page to check out the other design team member's projects and don't forget to enter the challenge.

Fall & Christmas Mini Quilts

Along with playing with paper I've also been playing with fabric too. I recently joined a quilt group and signed up for a sampler quilt class. I did 12 different 12x12 blocks. It is currently at the quilters for machine quilting. I will be sure to share photos once I get it back and bind it. I did a few blocks where I cut fabric on my Cameo and appliquéd it to the quilt block. (click here for a previous video tutorial on how to cut fabric on the Cameo.)

I discovered an amazing quilter's blog - it's called The Crafty Quilter. There was a tutorial for an Amish Mini Quilt that caught my eye. Since I'm new to quilting the great PDF instructions were perfect for me to understand.

I made this Welcome Fall Mini Quilt:

I placed it on my kitchen table and just love how it turned out.

I also decided to create a smaller one for Christmas.
I just skipped the outside strips and corners.

Here is a close up look.

Hope you liked the Mini Quilts I shared today.
The Crafty Quilter is having a link up on her blog - if you create with fabric stop by and link up!

Happy Fall Layout

It was my turn on the SVG Cuts Blog - we're having a Big Halloween Party and I created this Happy Fall Layout.

Each block is 6" x 4" and they go into a We R Memory Keepers Sleeve. I recently started using these sleeves and they are so fun!

Here is a look at some of the blocks. Stop over to the SVG Cuts Blog to check out all the details.

There are lots more projects to share so stop by the SVG Cuts Blog often for the Halloween Party.

Mini Back Packs & a Pumpkin

Are your kids back to school? Here are some cute little mini back packs I made for back to school.

I filled them with some jolly rancher candies.
They are from the SVG Cuts ~ Back to the Books SVG Kit.

They are about 4" high. I used Echo Park's Paper and Glue and did some fun print and cuts.

Have you seen the latest kit from SVG Cuts? It is called Bedtime Stories SVG Kit.

I made the pumpkin from the kit and plan on making the awesome castle.
Here is my pumpkin:
It has a little top that comes off. I used We R Memory Keepers Black Widow Papers. They are last year's papers (I'm picking up Bewitched tomorrow!)  I stitched the papers with black thread. I added some twine from Trendy Twine and flair from Paper Play Studios.

Have a great week!

Thanksgiving Layout

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
You may be asking your self - wow is Amy all caught up with scrapping? My answer to that is no - I'm exactly 1 year behind. Not too bad considering others are about 10 years behind (hope that's not you!)

I used some pretty DCWV papers for this layout - they are from the Autumn Melody stack which I have used alot this fall.
I am going to enter this layout in their stackaholic challenge.

Here’s a look at the sketch.

For the banner I used the Thanksgiving Dinner SVG Kit and the cute cuts are from Thankful Cuties SVG Collection.

I like how the stack had built in journal tags - just trimmed it out and journaled away.
My new favorite embellishment are the flair from Paper Play Studio.
It just adds a perfect touch to the layout.

So if you are one of those scrapping Turkey day tens years ago or this year hope I inspired you a bit with this layout.
Happy Scrappin!

Fall Banner Swap

This time next week Summer will be over and Autumn begins. I just love the SVG Cuts ATC Swaps, it’s so fun to get one in your mailbox. I was trying to figure what else we could swap and thought why not a banner?

I asked some fellow swappers if they would be interested in testing this out. I cut the banner shapes and letters and sent them out to Elizabeth, Deb and Brigit. They each created 4 of their letter, kept one for themselves and sent the other three to the other swappers Once all the mailing was done here is our end result:

Elizabeth created the F. Love the velvet accents and the leaf is a great cut.

I created the A banner. I used the tree from the Fall Harvest SVG Kit. and the bushel basket is from Harvest Hill Farm SVG Collection.

Deb from Deb’s Crafty Side created the first L.
Her burlap accents and other cuts are so pretty.

Brigit (fellow SVG Cuts DT Member) from Brigit Scraps created the second L.
Her leaf frame and accent is so pretty - photo does not do it justice - has a little sparkle to it and looks like water colors.

So this swap was a success and I think I may offer up a “NOEL” swap on the SVG Cuts forum. If there are several groups I may send out an SVG of a banner shape and the letters along with a color palette to follow. What do you think? Sound fun?

Now that fall is approaching so is Halloween. Have you seen the latest challenge on the SVG Cuts FB Page? Halloween theme with 1st place prize of a Sizzix eclips! Go check it out!

That ever so generous Mary & Leo are also giving away a Big Shot 9/17!
